Cigna War Journal Major Update...

Dateline: Las Vegas, January 2015..

Greetings Fellow CWJ Vets!

Mom Cobb here with an update of sorts. As readers may have noticed, we have been pretty busy of late. Cigna has not done anything particularly nasty of late requiring our special loving care so I didn't want anyone to think Cigna had pulled anything.

In fact what has happened is Jeff's condition has taken a turn and this has allowed for some better diagnosis (finally)! The last neurologist <name hidden to protect the incompetent> did absolutely nothing for the two years we took Jeff to him and after finally getting Cigna to start paying LTD again, we decided we could find a better neurologist to finally get to the bottom of things...and as luck would have it, we found a winner (albeit in the wrong discipline)...at the suggestion of a local friend, we sought out a Dr. Bangalore in Las Vegas. Two vital things about Dr. Bangalore: 1. His speciality turned out to be epilepsy so we could not continue with him for treatment 2. Dr. Bangalore is one smart cookie. Even though he had never met Jeff and knew nothing of the case ahead of time, within 20 minutes he had sorted out the general class of problem that Jeff has (aphasia) and determined the exact category of neurologist he needed to see (behavioral) and finally suggested a few local professionals!

In addition to this, he within minutes had determined that Jeff had Horners Syndrome (we knew this but very few if any doctors over the years had tumbled to that one), a pretty amazing assessment that most miss. The Horners is just an artifact from a childhood surgery which had nothing to do with the matter at hand but this was a pretty astute observation on Dr. Bangalore's part. If anyone in Las Vegas wants or needs the best, Dr. Bangalore is "the man" in our books right now. What a difference between him and the last one, related we are sure to Dr. Vinnie Boom Bah, doctor to the stars:

Kidding aside, this is huge for us: we now can put a name to our real enemy, we are close to gaining the kind of documentation and medical evidence that even a criminal empire cannot ignore or deny. This is pretty important because gang, we had the time and energy to keep this war up but as things have been sliding some medically of late, its taking all of my time and energy just to care of Jeff these days.

This site is absolutely NOT shutting down, no way. However with the war seemingly won for now we simply cannot keep a whole team of volunteers on alert and so have released pretty much everyone except for Radical Edward who has kindly volunteered to monitor the personal lives of any and all Cigna employees for as long as we need. Ed likes doing things like that and you gotta respect someone who loves their job to such a degree...

As for us Jeff is needing more care and only together can we get him to the right medical professionals to get a better handle on the aphasia or more specifically the exact causes of this particular type. Typically this type of aphasia (verbal and written communication problems) is caused by one of four general triggers, only one of which appears to apply here as Jeffs condition is progressive and not static. As this possibility is one of the more troubling causes, we are putting all of our energy into getting to the root of it while Jeff still has some kind of communication skills...

Jeff is having a hard time with some of this but wanted me to be sure to thank everyone who worked so hard to help him when he could not help himself. It meant the world to him (and me too!) when our backs were against the wall and we were out-matched by a greater foe, good people stepped up...since our hands are pretty full with the medical side of life right now, we pray that their "pay it forward" acts of kindness in helping defend us from Cigna's ham-handed attempts to avoid paying benefits. So thank you so very much team...

Also one more little love-note for Cigna too: Its going to take everything we have to deal with this and so deal with this we shall. If a Cigna employee even flinches in the direction of doing something (anything) ignorant, they had best pray to their personal gods for mercy because it shall not be coming from us.

So keep the faith kids! We are here and will update as things change...
